Whispering Pines Church,
As you know, Boulder County Public Health has instituted a universal mask mandate which requires that masks are to be worn in all indoor public spaces. WPC has looked to Scripture as our ultimate authority as we’ve navigated what has been a couple of contentious years. It is in the pages of God’s Word that we find the necessity to obey governing authorities as God has established them to rule over us, even if we find their governance to be unjust or even harsh (Romans 13, 1 Peter 2). Scripture tells us that this obedience is ultimately as unto the Lord, and is a critical element to our witness on earth.

Additionally, we ought to see difficult times as opportunities. Christ instructed us to “turn the other cheek,” to “offer our cloak as well,” and to “go the extra mile” (Matthew 5:39-42). We reaffirm our commitment to Scripture, and our commitment to the be the sort of people Jesus desires as His representatives. I encourage you, continue to look not only to your interests, but to the interests of others (Philippians 2:4), and to do your very best to live in peace with everyone (Romans 2:18). Thank you for your patience, understanding, and humble hearts as we walk through a difficult season together.

In His Service,
Pastor Nate Roschen & WPC Leadership
