Dear Whispering Pines Church Family,
I want to thank you for your patient and gracious attitudes as we’ve gone through this trying season together. As a young man, I have been so thankful for Scripture to inform our decision-making as a church, both in terms of how we should obey governing authorities (Romans 13, 1 Peter 2), as well as our mindset as followers of Christ (Matt. 5:38-42, Phil. 2:1-4).
This has been a season of opportunity. As Christians we have had the ability to be compassionate to those who have been concerned for their own health, and understanding to those who have been angry and concerned about government overreach. Let us carry this compassionate attitude with us in all of life’s challenges. Let us be a church that looks to show mercy, that seeks to do what is redemptive at all times.
We’re thankful that we are now able to abide by the laws of our state and county and no longer require masks to be worn on Sunday morning. We all long for a return to “normal.” But even in this, we will continue to offer compassionate options to those who want to be good stewards of their health by continuing to wear a mask, or to stay home and join us through the livestream.
Thank you all so much for your patience and understanding,
Pastor Nate Roschen
